From the dreamy pastel ribbons to the delicious pastries, Ladurée is such a treat, and my company, even more so. This post features macaron flavor and taste profiles plus a few recommendations and tips for planning your visit!
Let's not forget the outfit details! And yep, I wore leggings to a fancy tea house. My goal was to style them with a pretty blouse to keep the look less casual.
Halogen lace-up flats (similar and the same brand)
H&M top (similar and same color!)
The best deal is buy the box of 8 macarons for $22.50 (total with tax). The box is made of embossed paper but you can get a set of 6 in a keepsake gift box for the same price. It all depends if you would like to keep the lovely box or not. Now the fun part! I visited Paris a few years ago but I never got to try a macaron from here. Now I see what I was missing out on!
Craving brownies: The chocolate has a brownie-like texture to it! I could eat a few of this flavor.
Something different: Sichuan pepper has a slight amount of tingle. SO yummy and an
Favorite overall: Pistachio, for the nutty and sweet flavor
Not-to-sweet: Green tea
If you like rosewater: try the Lavender, you'll like that too
If you would like to get a table plan to visit before 11am on a weekday. The store hours are 8am - 7pm daily.
As for the line, before 1:30 on weekdays it seems that line ebbs and flows. There were plenty of times there was no line at all! Further, it was never impossibly long or overflowing out door.
For your first visit I recommend getting a tea and the set of 3 pastries: walnut, chocolate, and sugar. Tea is served for one and the majority are $7 each. Pastries are about $2.50-4.50 each. The food menu features breakfast foods like eggs and toast, as well as french toast, served in various ways for about $12 each on average. As there is no menu online, I wanted to share these details. There were some quirks with the table service but as this is such a new place with a great deal of visitors, I think a little more time is required until things are in full swing. I will be back and it is definitely worth your time to stop in or sit for tea. I had the Thé Garden Bleu Royal and I recommend if you enjoy sweet and subtly fruity tea.
I hope these tips are helpful to you as you plan your visit. Enjoy!
I've yet to go to the Lauduree in Georgetown! From your pictures, it's obvious I'm really missing out!
