Sundays with Swann Street // Colada Shop + Little Leaf

Little Leaf, 1401 S St NW, Washington, DC 20009, USA
Welcome to the first post in a new series: Sundays with Swann Street!

Kicking off the morning with a serving of veggies and a good boost of protein. Yes, there are more fun and fancy ways to make a smoothie but this is a cost-effective way to get a mostly organic boost. To make fully organic, try Garden of Life or Orgain protein powder and organic almond milk.

Living here over 5 years and I still have not stopped taking photos on our walks...

Before we went out we hung a new shelf in our bathroom in anticipation of adding some pretty plants to the otherwise rather minimally decorated space. We ended up getting some moss and a few other plants from the nursery at ACE Hardware and more plants from Little Leaf.

Little Leaf is so, so dreamy. The shop was packed with fellow plant lovers and the ladies working there were incredibly helpful in choosing the right plants for a shady corner of our apartment.

Having worked up an appetite we went to Amsterdam Falafel for lunch. Starving as I was, I did not get to snap any pics of our food but it's a good spot to get a quick, customized vegetarian meal. They have curry ketchup for the fries, too, yum!

For dessert, we walked just a block further to Colada Shop...

Sharing chocolate rum cake and a colada! Sometimes I really miss the chill, fun vibe of South Florida. Where you have delicious treats and strong coffee, lively music playing...I found all this at Colada Shop. I will be back!

This Sunday...

Smoothie: 1 scoop protein, handful spinach, 1/2 c berries, 1 c almond milk, 1 banana

Walking down beautiful streets like Riggs, Q St and Swann Street (of course!) NW to 14th where we visited...
