Color, texture, and the way this tunic drapes on the body creates the most feminine look to me. When I wear this, it makes me feel...
graceful
grounded
relaxed
beautiful
These Madewell jeans have been hemmed to hit right at my ankle bone. One time I went crazy during sale and bought six pairs! I brought them to the store and they were all hemmed for free within a week.
Another great thing about this tunic? It can easily be worn as a dress! I hope to share another post in the future wearing it as such.
Sometimes the most dramatic, eye-catching looks can be the most modest. In my life I have learned to embrace more flowy looks so much. I used to avoid anything "baggy" altogether. Everything I wore had to at least come in at the waist. It is crazy to think that I felt I had to dress that way. If there are things you feel that you have to wear, ask yourself why. If it has to do with what other people will think then I can share with you that it is liberating to dress yourself for yourself. In the past I felt I had to appear to the world as slim or in shape all the time. These days I feel much differently. I accept and love my body now more than any other time in my life, yet usually I would rather be mostly covered. So be it! We have nothing to prove to anyone. Style is our own.
Thank you again to Tenneal of in11views, who captured these photos. She is a wonderful soul. And I love how she empowers women with her work.

ReplyDeleteThank you Rae! It felt so good to wear something that was flattering but nice and loose to move around in. I think I'll wear this all the time! Ha!
DeleteOh I love this relaxed look! I can't wait to see how you style that tunic like a dress! It's so pretty and the color is perfect on you!

When the weather gets just a little warmer, the tunic as a dress is totally happening! Thank you for your sweet words!
