Swann Street Style

Garden & Life in Washington, DC

A Warm Welcome to Swann Street Style

Washington, DC, USA

Launching my blog on my birthday weekend makes me pretty darn happy. Though I do get two weekends this year since it's a middle-of-the-week birthday! I have long awaited sharing on my own space like this, so I warmly welcome you here.

Swann Street is a beautiful street in northwest Washington, DC. It is lined with gorgeous gingko trees and row houses galore. I walk through it and I remember all the reasons why I ever wanted to leave my home in South Florida for a life in downtown DC.

In my heart, I imagine myself in a farmhouse with a huge garden to grow herbs and veggies. The flower crowns I love to make are a connection to the part of myself that finds great happiness near mountains and forests. But at this time in my life I am city-bound and loving it.

The seasonal transitions are beautiful. Smaller living space can be enough. Time for cooking and nourishing myself is sacred. These ideas have grown from the freedom and constraints of city living and inspire what I share here.

This blog is a place that welcomes slippers and messy top knots. Makeup-free faces and dreams about the future. The crazy awesome days and the ones I'd like to do-over. My greatest hope is that you find it adds some happiness to your day whenever you stop by.

Welcome, welcome, welcome...I am so glad you are here!
